Make sure that you now have the latest version of Twitter app on your iPhone. If not, head to the App Store and update the app.

Step one: First off, you need to launch the Twitter app from your home screen and then go to your profile page to proceed

Step two: Next up, make sure that you hit the Gear icon and select Settings & Privacy from the menu. On the Settings & Privacy screen, you need to select Content Preferences before moving ahead

Step three: Navigate to the bottom of the page and select Muted. Once you are in, make sure that the Muted words option is selected and then hit the Add button at the bottom right corner of the screen

Step four: At the top of the screen, enter all the terms and words you wish to mute on Twitter for your iPhone. Once you are done, make sure that you hit From Anyone option under the Mute From section

Step five: Once you are done, refresh your Twitter feed and changes will take effect immediately.

How to mute videos in iPhone Twitter app

Like Facebook, videos will automatically start playing every time you browse through them. While this is a great feature, one major drawback is that it can take up a large amount of your data. Here is how you can disable auto-playing videos in iPhone Twitter app.

Step one: Launch Twitter app from your home screen and select the Me tab. After that, hit the Gear icon and select Settings

Step two: Navigate the General section and select video autoplay. Once you are in, select Never play videos automatically at the bottom.
