Normally, your iPhone will vibrate whenever a new notification comes in. This is very useful, especially when your device is in silent mode or placed in your bag. Unfortunately, it occasionally does not vibrate, which makes you miss important calls or notifications. There are numerous reasons s for this problem, ranging from wrong configurations to hardware issues like a broken vibration motor. Supposing that you are confronting one of them, we have solutions for you.
Initially, you need to turn on “Vibrate on Ring” or “Vibrate on Silent” toggles. Open the Settings app to go to Sound, you will notice that there are two toggles called Vibrate on Ring and Vibrate on Silent. Once you have enabled Vibrate on Ring, your iPhone will vibrate when it is not in silent mode. In contrast, Vibrate on Silent lets your device vibrate in silent mode,
Secondly, you should reset settings if the above-mentioned solution doesn’t work for you Doing so will reset all your settings and change them to the factory defaults, rather than remove your content. To start, open settings, access to General, scroll to the end, choose “Reset all settings” and confirm the process. As soon as it finishes, check if whether your iPhone can vibrate or not.
Thirdly, if the problem still persists, you can restore your iPhone. Make use of iTunes or iCloud to make a backup of the device. To do this, connect your device to a computer, open iTunes, head to the Summary page, tap on the Restore button and follow the on-screen instructions. After that, check if your problem is dealt with.
Finally, the worst situation is that your hardware is out of order. Prior to having your iPhone repaired at the Apple Store, you had better test your vibration motor. Go to Settings, click Sounds, toggle off Vibrate on Silent and then toggle it back on. If your iPhone can vibrate, the vibration motor works properly and the problem may be due to software. If it still does not vibrate, make another test. If the problem is still there, it proves that your vibration motor does not work fine and needs repairing.
