With the release of iOS 10, Apple has taken the Messages app to a whole new level with a bunch of new cool features, which helps it well compete with other messaging apps like Facebook Messenger or Whatsapp. One of the notable features added to Messages was predictive emoji. When you type, the app will automatically suggest emoji that you can insert based on what you already typed. But what if this can be a cause of annoyance when you are typing a note or in a Skype meeting? Well, you can easily turn off predictive emoji in iOS 10. Wanna know how it’s done? Let’s walk along with me.
Before diving in, note that iOS 10 does not come with a built-in Off switch for predictive emoji. So, you will need to seek the help of a workaround to turn off predictive emoji. Here are two workarounds that can help you out.
Workaround 1: Turn off predictive text
Step 1: First, you need to launch the Messages app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Open a new conversation thread, and then tap and hold on the globe icon.
Step 3: In the end, tap the Predictive switch to turn it off.
Workaround 2: Remove emoji keyboard
Step 1: Starting off, launch the Settings app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Navigate to General > Keyboard.
Step 3: Once you are in, swipe left on the emoji keyboard and tap Delete to remove it.
From now onwards, when you type all three suggestions in the predictive text bar should be text without emoji.
That’s all there it takes. If you have any questions or concerns about how to turn of predictive emoji in iOS 10, drop them in the comments section below and we will be happy to help you out with the problem you may have.
